Australian born, with Greek parents, living between two ancient cultures, raised by a modern carefree society and nurtured under vast blue skies.
In the absence of visitors to share a table with, a group of entities moved into my living room. Hybrid manifestations of memories and myths, they stood silently at the periphery of my vision and my lounge room, quietly waiting to be acknowledged. Sharing new knowledge and reworking old stories, one by one they were remembered.
“Laughing in a stone ear” reflects upon the theatricality of our existence, the roles we play, the characters we take on in the construction of our personal stage and asks, what happens when no one is there to see.
When one is un-certain, when in doubt, when doubt full, a seeking occurs. It could simply be a small movement, a glance in an-other direction, a turn of our heads looking for something forgotten, perhaps, only to realise, that the forgotten was never known.
