It requires trust and honesty to allow vulnerability. I feel guided by those values as a portrait photographer. I desire to build a close connection to those I photograph because I seek a vulnerable and natural appearance by establishing a socially safe space. This method determines the outcome, which has a quiet and sensitive atmosphere, as the people are comfortably aware of my camera. Through series of portraits, I pursue an intimate approach to photography.

Graduation Project
In Vertrouwen is a series of photographic portraits of men at the age of eighteen till twenty-seven. Through this ongoing body of work, I attempt to reveal intimate interactions between men and a representation that I know from my experiences among childhood friends. To achieve this, I care greatly about creating a safe place for conversation.
