Some computers can see. This was largely achieved with daily internet users who were the teachers: showing machine learning models all the images containing a traffic light. By now, mechanical sight is tasked with significant responsibilities, being the key technology behind self-driving cars and national security.
The world is re-orienting around this new viewer. Now you can come across images that do not make sense to your eyes, because they are not intended for you. These images are made by machine learning algorithms with the sole purpose to be seen by other machines.
Between Your Eyes And Mine is an augmented game that invites players to join a conversation between two trained algorithms. The game borrows the strategy of CAPTCHA, while reversing the roles: the artificially intelligent models become the teachers, while the player learns to see.
